Lemon Drinks For a Picnic

Oranges and lemons

There is nothing more refreshing than a lemon drink in summer. Just the right mix of sweetness with an extra tang.

There are a wide variety to make using homemade lemonade as the basic ingredient. Drink them on their own or use them as a mixer with other ingredients to make alcoholic drinks.

Some Pink Lemonades

Pink Lemonade is a twist on traditional lemonade that looks and tasts amazing. Different fruits add flavour as well as a pretty pink colour. Add strawberries and raspberries for sweetness or cranberries for a sharper flavour.

Try pink lemonade for something a little different. If you are holding a wedding or valentines day picnic these drinks would fit in perfectly. If you have decided on a pink theme you can serve drinks to match.

Hot Pink Lemonade With Blueberries

  • 2 1/4 cups fresh lemon juice
  • 8 cups more water
  • 3/4 cup frozen blueberries
  • Makes 3 1/2 litres

Boil one cup of water with the sugar to make a syrup. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.

Pour 7 cups of cool water and ice into a jug. Add the lemon syrup and blueberries. Stir until you get a 'hot pink' color. Pour into bottles to take to your picnic

Tip Using frozen blueberries will make the drink icy cold.
